Ci Awarded Patent for Cutting-Edge FMAudit® Managed Print Services Technology

Invention covers full suite of FMAudit products and capabilities

Fort Worth, TX—Thursday, November 20, 2014  ECi Software Solutions (www.ECiSolutions.com), a leader in industry-specific information technology solutions, today announced that it has been issued a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its industry-leading FMAudit Managed Print Services (MPS) technology.  ECi’s United States Patent No. 8,825,835 B2 covers FMAudit’s “Status Monitoring System and Method” Invention.

The “Status Monitoring System and Method” invention is in the field of data collection and digital repositories for printing and imaging devices.  The method provides end users with the ability to click a link or download the application from a portable external storage device (USB key) and aggregate data such as meters, toner and ink levels that is collected from both network and local copiers and printers.  The patent covers much of the technology found throughout today’s FMAudit suite of products, including Central, Onsite, WebAudit, and Agent.  This achievement comes just a few months after FMAudit eclipsed 5 million monitored devices, making it the worldwide leader in device management based on number of devices monitored.
